Fort Casey is one of my favorite places to photograph. It offers an incredible backdrop of grass fields, cliffsides, and water. The only downside is that it’s a bit of a drive to get there otherwise I would be there every weekend! Ben & Kimberly had decided on Fort Casey because Whidbey Island was a special place for them! And of course, I was thrilled to have a reason to photograph out there again.
This was the second or third attempt to photograph their engagement photos. Kim had dreams of a golden hour sunset and I was determined to make that happen! Luckily, this attempt worked for us and the weather that day was beautiful. We started photographing in some of the fields that looked over the water. It was breathtaking! Photographs honestly don’t do the beauty of the park justice but it sure makes for fabulous photos, too!
Ben & Kim were such a breeze to photograph! They even brought a bluetooth speaker and Kim had a playlist ready to go to help ease their nerves and it worked wonderfully. We moved along throughout the park from the fields to the cliffs to the lighthouse. The light got more and more beautiful as we went along! The evening ended in an incredible golden hour. It was perfect. I can’t wait to photograph their big day this coming summer!
If you loved this Fort Casey engagement session, then you’ll love these posts!
