This was the year of intimate weddings! Kristian & Brooke opted to have their ceremony at Ashe & Alder in Arlington, Washington and their reception in their own backyard! They had their closest friends and family present, and of course most importantly, their beautiful children! The property at Ashe & Alder was beautiful. Despite some cloud cover, the foothills were still in sight and still stunning!
They decided to participate in a first look before the ceremony and it was so sweet. I would describe Kristian as being really funny and having a great sense of humor, but definitely having a little stoic side to him. But, when he saw Brooke all dolled up in her gown, he was all smiles. They have such a sweet bond and you can tell that they are truly best friends! We had been a little worried about rain during portraits & the ceremony, but we lucked out with only a few raindrops. The ceremony was beautiful and was a great representation of their relationship and life together!
After the ceremony was done, we traveled to their home about an hour away from Ashe & Alder. I was so blown away at how much thought and effort went into the decor! It was SO beautiful. However, when I arrived, we happened to be in the middle of torrential downpour. It was raining SO hard but thankfully the tables had been set up under a tent! I had arrived earlier than Brooke & Kristian and was so thankful to find that the rain poured out before they even arrived! It didn’t rain the rest of the evening which was such a blessing for them!
Photographing their big day was such a pleasure! I love the images we captured together! Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Cusumano!
