I’m so thrilled to get the chance to blog another beautiful intimate wedding from this summer. Joey & Alyssa’s ceremony took place at Rosario Beach in Anacortes and it was absolutely beautiful! It is one of my favorite locations to photograph at so getting to photograph a wedding there was a dream! Rosario Beach is tucked away near Deception Pass and features a forest, a beach, and an cliffside area that looks over the water. It’s a beautiful location to photograph at or go to visit for the day to enjoy the scenery.
2020 has been a tough year for couples when trying to navigate what to do as far as their weddings go. Joey & Alyssa were originally supposed to get married back in May but due to restrictions, they decided to postpone to a couple months later. They decided to downsize and have an intimate wedding that followed the guidelines for weddings. So instead of having it at a wedding venue, they chose a beautiful house and the beach for their ceremony. Leading up to the wedding, the weather had been perfect. Unfortunately, Washington started receiving smoke from the California fires as well as some fires we already had. The smoke was extremely thick and it was a little bit of a bummer for Joey & Alyssa. But, everyone rallied together to make sure that their day was still special. And truth be told, it turned out stunning.
The portraits and ceremony took place on the bluff overlooking the water. They brought their own wedding arch and everyone stood and watched the beautiful ceremony. Despite the smoke, the images turned out beautiful. Following the ceremony, everyone headed back to the house for the toasts and formal dances! We then headed to the beach one more time just for more images with the sunset of just the bride and groom. It was perfect! It was so lovely being a part of this incredible day. Congratulations Joey & Alyssa!
