A Freezing Winter Engagement Session at Gold Creek Pond
I think that I’ve spent more time in the snow this winter season than I have the past 5 years combined! But I’m perfectly okay with that! Matt & Michaela’s session started off with an INSANELY gorgeous sunny day. I decided it was best to start earlier in the morning because being that it was a sunny Saturday, I knew that there would probably a good crowd of people arriving later in the day and we didn’t want to have to worry about other people in the photos! But my goodness… I think all of us underestimated how absolutely FREEZING it was going to be!
The thing about Gold Creek Pond in the winter is that they close off the trail so people can snowshoe to the pond. It’s a little over half a mile to get there which usually isn’t so bad of a walk at all! However, it’s pretty rough when it’s 8 degrees outside! And Matt forgot to bring a coat… whoops! Luckily some nice lady who was heading out of the trail gave him a handwarmer. Ha! We arrived to the pond and the snow was as beautiful as ever – just like these two! I can’t even believe that they did this with absolutely NO complaints. Now, I’m not saying that my clients tend to complain by any means, however, I KNEW that these two were about to turn into ice cubes! But not a negative peep from them at all!
We ended up finishing this session quicker than normal. I, personally, will do whatever it takes to get the shot for my clients but I knew that their fingers were probably about to fall off so we sped through things and I’m still so in love with their images! I’m so looking forward to shooting their wedding at Lord Hill Farms this summer (that makes 3 weddings there this year… so excited!). Here are some engagement highlights from their session!
