These photos just make me so happy. I’ve been friends with Dani’s younger brother since were about 12 years old, therefore, I’ve been taking photos for their family for years! So when I found out about Tyler’s plan to propose to Dani down in Arizona where they live, I jumped at the chance to go!

I flew in for this short trip and Tyler immediately picked me up at the airport. From there, we headed to the butterfly garden, Butterfly Wonderland, over in Scottsdale. We got set up and waited for what seemed like HOURS for them to arrive. Katie, Dani’s sister, was in town with her husband & daughter so their excuse for getting Dani to the butterfly garden was that Lilah (Dani’s niece) wanted to see the butterflies!

Once they all arrived, Katie made her way towards us hoping that Dani would follow (we were hidden towards the back of the exhibit), and it was SO funny because Dani didn’t even realize what was happening. She said that she saw me and recognized me, but didn’t process that it was me because she would’ve never guessed I’d have been in Arizona! Then, she saw Tyler from the corner of her eye and her jaw DROPPED! It was SO funny!

From there, Tyler got on one knee and asked his sweetheart to marry him, and of course, she said YES! I had tears in my eyes from behind my camera. It was such an honor to photograph this special moment! I’m so excited to keep photographing their milestones throughout their lives. Next step = WEDDING BELLS!
