One of the fun perks of my job is occasionally getting the opportunity to photograph couples in amazing locations! I flew down to Tucson, Arizona and headed to the beautiful Catalina State Park to capture Darian & Mariah! I’ve been to Arizona multiple times and I always fall in love with the desert. Although I’m not a huge fan of the heat, there’s something about the desert that I just ADORE.
Darian had reached out to me months ago about how he was preparing to propose to Mariah and wanted details on me coming to Arizona to capture both their engagement photos & wedding. I was so honored because Mariah is also a photographer (and she is amazing!!). So the fact that she had picked me out of so many others meant SO much! When the day came for me to head to Arizona for their engagement photos, all was looking great! But much to our dismay, I must have brought the rain with me! It was slightly disappointing because one would traditionally go to Arizona for the nice weather, but we definitely experienced the latter. However, the upside is that I’m a Washingtonian. The rain and clouds are not new to me! So, I was happy because I figured we’d find a way to pull it off!
The rain held off for their session almost entirely. With the exception of a couple raindrops, we were dry and the clouds were so gorgeous over the hills. It was so perfect with how absolutely stunning Catalina State Park is. And photographing them was such a dream. I swear, these two didn’t miss a beat! They were absolute magic in front of the camera. They made my job so easy! I honestly couldn’t have been more happy about how this session went and I’m SO excited to be back to Arizona (hopefully with some sun!) next year for their wedding day!
