2016 was so good to me. In total, I photographed 30 weddings, 150+ portrait sessions, and visited 7 different states. I made huge steps in my business this year. I found my style that I had been longing after for so long – I refer to it as “Light & Bright with a Dash of Whimsy” and I think that sums it up! As photographers, we’re so hard on ourselves when it comes to our work. But to finally figure out the style that you had wanted deep down all along was invigorating. I have never worked so hard or dedicated myself to something like I did to my business this year. Because of this, I let relationships fall short and that was a hard lesson to learn, but it was necessary! 2016 was still a “business builder” year for me but now I’ve gotten to the point where I’m confident in where I stand. I never thought I would be to this point in 2.5 years in business!
2017 will be the year I get my life back. It’s the year that I’m implementing a more constructive workflow, where I’m creating a bridal experience that will reflect my love and passion for what I do, teach my little heart out to those who are wanting to learn, and continue to grow and learn as a photographer AND a business owner. With 27 weddings total in the book for this next year (3 of those being destination weddings!) and a list of photographers wanting to be mentored, I know that this will be the biggest year for me yet!
It was so hard to pick my favorites from this past year. So there is about 127 photos for you to look at…whoops! That’s what happens when you love what you do. It’s too hard to choose! Check out all of my very favorites from 2016:
love this Rachel, keep up the good work! 🙂
